Hi community. I’m posting this message in hopes someone may have some insight and possible solution to my problem.
So. I recently switched modems and routers in my house, ultimately causing the printer to lose connection. I’ve been told this is due to the IP address being changed. Because it’s an older model, HP Smart doesn’t even recognize it.
I’ve gone through the process of pressing the wps button and signal button on the printer -nada.

Online, there’s a link that prompts me to select WiFi connection and return to search for the printer -nada.
PLEASE, somebody. Help.

@FuzzyPickles18, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that you are trying to connect the printer to the wireless network.

Use the WPS method, refer to - Connecting an HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. This model printer only supports a 2.4GHz band.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
  • This printer supports WPA encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method. If using WEP or WPA-PSK+FT change it to WPA-PSK
  • Newer routers will have WPA2/3 encryption which is not compatible with the printer.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
