HP Recommended

I have an HP LaserJet E42540 and am trying to install the driver on Server 2012 R2 to act as a print server to win 10 and 11 machines in an AD environment. Drivers are not completing installation on the server stating it's the wrong OS. Google-Fu has pointed to several articles on here that reference dead links. Any help is appreciated.

My question is exactly the same except I just got the OfficeJet Pro 9730e yesterday.  I also have Server 2012 R2 and it would not allow me to install the SUPD.  I tried the PCL6 Universal Print Driver and it installs the printer, but nothing will print, so it doesn't work for the printer.
