HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer

We have a new WiFi router and we cannot connect it to our OfficeJet Pro. We set up the printer years ago and we do not remember the username and password for the (printer’s) WiFi settings or control panel. We cannot factory reset it without the username and password but no one knows it and the standard admin/123456 combo isn’t working either.

@MosbyHouse, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 to New WiFi Router connection!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like you're in a bit of a bind with the printer’s WiFi settings. Since you’ve already tried the default username and password combo and can’t remember the credentials, here’s what you can try next:

Check for the Printer’s IP Address:
If your printer is connected to your network, you can find its IP address by printing a network configuration page. Here's how:

  • On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless icon.
  • Select Settings or Network.
  • Look for an option to print the network configuration page.

Access the Printer via Web Interface:
Once you have the IP address, you can access the printer's settings through a web browser:

  • Open a browser and type the printer's IP address in the address bar (e.g., http://192.168.x.x).
  • You might be prompted for a username and password. Try entering the default credentials like admin and 123456 or see if it prompts you to reset.

Use HP Smart App or HP Print and Scan Doctor:
If the above methods don’t work, you can try using the HP Smart app (available on iOS and Android) or the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool on a computer. These tools can help you reset the network settings or guide you through troubleshooting steps.

Hard Reset the Printer:
If none of the above steps work, a factory reset might still be your last resort. This typically requires access to the printer’s settings, but if you can't find a way in through the control panel or app, it might be worth checking if the printer has a physical reset button or a reset method using button combinations (often detailed in the user manual).
