On Windows 11 Professional, [for HP LaserJet 1012] I installed upd-pcl6-x64-7.0.1.24923.exe as per @Mans instructions here:
However, printing results in a page with the text Unrecognized Personality: PCLXL
How may this be fixed?

Hello,
Please try to install your printer with the UPD PCL5 (x64) driver via the following HP link:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL39348/lj-95994-9/upd-pcl5-x64-6.1.0.20062.exe

Hello,
What is the exact model of your printer (e.g. CB747A)?
- To locate this Product Number: this document.
The drivers I proposed are available via the following HP page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-universal-print-driver-series-for-windows/503548....
x64 (64 bits): https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL40842/ds-99374-24/upd-pcl6-x64-7.0.1.24923.exe.

HP LaserJet 1012
Update: I uninstalled upd-pcl6-x64-7.0.1.24923.exe, including DOT4_001 drivers; and installed 3055 PCL5, including its own DOT4_001 drivers. Now I can print once per printer power cycle -- after printing once, if I do not power-off and power-on the HPLJ 1012, I get just a page printed with the error message unsupported personality error message.

Looking at specs on this device it appears to only support PCL 5E and that would explain the random issues using a PCL6 driver. My best suggestion is to find the older PCL5 UPD driver and try that, or try native Windows drivers.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.

Regarding:
@Repairatrooper wrote:Looking at specs on this device it appears to only support PCL 5E ... the random issues ...
To clarify -- the issues seen are systematic:
- With upd-pcl6-x64-7.0.1.24923.exe, the "unsupported personality" error always happens; there is no successful print.
- With 3055 PCL5, after power power cycling the printer, the first print is always successful and all subsequent prints result in the "unsupported personality" error; until the printer is power-cycled again.

Replying to @Mans :
Regarding model: HP LaserJet 1012
Regarding upd-pcl6-x64-7.0.1.24923.exe -- attempts to print always fail with a page printed with error message about unsupported personality.
Regarding @ShlomiL -- I uninstalled upd-pcl6-x64-7.0.1.24923.exe, including DOT4_001 drivers; and installed 3055 PCL5, including its own DOT4_001 drivers. Now I can print once per printer power cycle -- after printing once, if I do not power-off and power-on the HPLJ 1012, I get just a page printed with the error message unsupported personality error message; if the printer is power-cycled, I can succeed at one print command.

Thanks @Mans I downloaded that file and followed your instructions from here. During the install, there was a dialog box with two options for HP Universal Printing PCL 5 -- I picked the second one (v6.1.0) -- screenshot below. After the install, I was able to print 3 documents without power-cycling the printer.
