The HP Envy 7640 Series software update of 11/24/21 won't install completely. I'm stuck when connecting the software via Wi-Fi.
The "Network Check" screen shows my device. After highlighting my Envy 7640 and clicking "Next", I always get "Unsuccessful Network Installation"
The older version of this software prior to the 11/24/21 update was working fine via my wireless network until this updated software came along and now I cannot run/open this program.
When running the HP Print and Scan Doctor, the printing inspections are "ok". Scan, however, show driver error. I had "no" issues prior to this new software package.
I've uninstalled/re-installed this software update and I've tried system restore before 11/24/21. I've disabled firewall/anti-virus software for to re-install this updated HP software - no luck. Nothing, so far, is working. I'm still stuck at the same spot of "Unsuccessful Network Installation" screen. So I "undid" my system restore point from 11/21/21 back to 12/6/21.
Now I cannot use the HP Envy 7640 Series software on my desktop. It only opens to conduct software installation only, but won't continue further when trying to connect the software via wi-fi.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:
