I am trying to determine if I need to update the firmware & drivers for my printer. I downloaded and ran this file - Full_Webpack-38.9.2002_1-OJ8740_Full_Webpack.exe. However, it will not find my printer on the wireless connection. Odd, because MS Office have to issue finding it, Adobe has no issue finding it. We doesn't the HP app find it?  ARGH!!! 😞

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

Restart the Printer

1. Turn off the printer.

2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.

3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

4. Plug the power cord back in.

5. Turn on the printer.

 

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Thank you for your response. However, I have tried everything more than once and the bloody machine still comes up with an error and it is not recognized by HP Dumb and running Full_ Webpack-38.9.2002_1-0J8740 _Full_ Webpack.exe shows everything to be okay. 

 

All is well, as I turned it into Staples and got a trade-in deal plus all the cartridges and purchased a nice Epson for a song. Goodbye HP! 

 

You all have been great with your assistance and responses, and I certainly do not fault you all for a shoddy product!
