Thanks for reaching out to us on the HP Support Forums. MKazi is at your service.
I understand that you would like to know if your HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One Printer will work with MacBook Pro OS 10.13.6. I'll be glad to assist you with this case.
During my research, I found that this printer does not support Apple Airprint drivers. However, the Mac OS should contains the basic printer drivers. Please follow the below steps to install the basic printer drivers:
- Download and install the drivers updates from Apple from this link: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?locale=en_US
- Once the updates are installed, from System Preferences, click on Print & Scan.
- Click the Plus sign.
- Select the listed HP Photosmart C5200 series (This printer's drivers should work).
- Click the drop-down menu next to Use or Print Using and click on Select Printer Software.
- Select the HP Photosmart C5200 series from the list.
- Click OK to confirm your selection and add the printer, then try printing using the configured print queue.
Now you should be able to print from the Mac OS 10.13.6 and scan using the Apple Image Capture software.
In case the above steps do not work then you may download and install the Gutenprint from this link: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/
NOTE: You may download the Gutenprint 5.2.14 drivers.
I sincerely hope this information helps. Please feel free to let me know how it goes.
Cheers! 🙂
