HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer

Hello, I'm trying to setup our brand new HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e series, but am seeing the "Use SETUP Cartridges" error message even while the Setup cartridges are installed.  There is no option to dismiss this display -- i.e., no Ok or Cancel button.  There is only a '*' and a '#' option on the bottom right, but clicking either does nothing.  Nothing I tried seems to work -- i.e., turning off/on, unplugging then replugging, clicking the undisplayed back arrow multiple times.  Will you please provide instructions on how to fix this?  It is my understanding different models require different solutions.

Hi @cykm,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To bypass the message on the printer the only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Let me know if this helps.

Hello Gaya1239.

Unfortunately, I do not see a private message icon on the upper right corner.  Also, when I click the link below it leads me to a page that says "The page you are trying to access was not found. Please check your URL for typos and try again."  Will you please resend me the solution?  Thank you.

I still do Not see the private message icon, and the link still takes me to a page that does Not contain a solution.  Please provide a solution in a different form.
