HP DeskJet 2655 All-in-One Printer

I had my HP cartridges refilled and when I inserted them into my printer, I got a message saying I need to use the Setup cartridges.  I don't have them any more.  I tried all the tips online, removing the power cord, inserting each cartridge one at a time with the printer turned off after each insertion etc.  Nothing I do helps.  I can press and release the power button and reset button and get a "reset print page" but then the flashing light comes on indicating the cartridges are empty.  When I try to print again, I get the same "use setup cartridges" error message.  Is there any way around this?  I just spent over $40 to get the cartridges refilled and on't want to have to buy brand new ones.

               Hello dunnjxz,

There is a solution! This lock can be disabled directly from your HP printer. Go to your printer settings via the control screen menu. You will find the Disable HP cartridge protection option. All you have to do is click on this option, apply it and above all remember to save this modification so that it applies correctly. If you cannot find this option, you can use your printer's IP address. Go to the print server and navigate to this option.

Many thanks for taking the time to help me.  I should have mentioned in my original post that I tried the option you suggested and it didn't make any difference.  But thanks anyway.  I've noticed in other people's posts that HP can message users with instructions on how to hard reset their particular printer to overcome the problem.  Maybe it will be a solution, maybe not.  I'll message them.
