Hi @Fd82,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that setting up a used HP DeskJet/Officejet 6110 series printer on the HP Smart app (Android) can be tricky if the printer still has old network settings or hasn’t been reset.

Restore Network Defaults

  • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button + Cancel button together for about 5 seconds.
  • This resets the printer’s Wi‑Fi settings to factory defaults.
  • The printer should now broadcast its own temporary Wi‑Fi network

Connect to Printer’s Wi‑Fi

  • On your Android phone, go to Settings → Wi‑Fi.
  • Select the printer’s Wi‑Fi (HP‑Setup‑xxxx).
  • If asked for a password, it’s usually 12345678 (HP’s default Wi‑Fi Direct password).

Use HP Smart App

  • Open HP Smart → Tap Add Printer.
  • The app should detect the printer via Wi‑Fi Direct.
  • Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your home Wi‑Fi network.
  • Once connected, the printer will stop broadcasting its own Wi‑Fi and join your router’s network

Confirm Connection

  • Print a Network Configuration Page (usually by pressing the Information (i) button or a combination like Wireless + Information).
  • Check that the printer shows connected to your home Wi‑Fi SSID.
  • Reconnect your phone back to your home Wi‑Fi.

Take care and have an amazing day!
