HP Officejet 4632 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all.   I have a HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer series that I cannot get to regularly print on wireless.   Wireless diagnostic test results says there are no problems.  I have ensured all software updates.  I've reset to factory defaults.   New cartridges.  Here's the issue:  Each time I send something to print, I receive a message that user intervention is required.   No further insight.  Sometimes, the page(s) will just start printing when I've done nothing (and decided to go to FedEx!),  or when I've restarted the printer or when I've switched off/on wireless.   I've tried all different orders of starting printer, sending a doc to print, etc.  Any thoughts?    (P.S. apologies for the subject.   Kept coming up as an error)

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)

  • Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.
  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor, and then follow the prompts to install and open the tool.
  • On the welcome screen, click Start to select your printer and run the diagnostic.
  • If your printer is not found, click My product is not listed, and then follow the instructions troubleshoot the connection.

Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  • If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • NOTE: HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

Run the Windows printer troubleshooting tool

Windows includes a troubleshooting tool that can help resolve printer issues.

  • In Windows, search for and open Troubleshoot Settings.
  • Click PrinterRun the troubleshooter.
  • Running the printer troubleshooter in Windows
  • If prompted, select your printer in the list, and then click Next.
  • Windows identifies and troubleshoots issues with your HP printer.
