Dowloaded HP Print and Support App from the App Store for my MAC, but can not seem to get it to print.  I have the printer connected to the Network and it is showing up as connected at both ends, but when I try to print, nothing gets printed.

Hi @PAPAM4650,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing issues with printing from your Mac using the HP Smart app. There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the same network as your Mac. Verify this through the network settings on both the printer and the Mac.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and your Mac. This can resolve many connectivity issues.

Re-add the Printer:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

  • Select your printer and click the minus sign (-) to remove it.

  • Click the plus sign (+) to add it back again, ensuring you select the correct printer and connection type.

Update Printer Firmware:

Check for Software Updates:

  • Make sure that both macOS and the HP Smart app have the latest updates installed. Official HP® Support.

Ensure Default Printer is Set:

  • In Printers & Scanners, make sure your printer is set as the default printer.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Check your printer for any error messages or indicator lights that might point to specific issues.

Print a Diagnostics Page:

  • Use the printer’s control panel to print a network configuration or diagnostics page to ensure it’s correctly connected to the network.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
