I have used my HP office jet 5744 for many years and no problems - I could I print and scan at the touch of button -  but now with the app I can’t. I didn’t ask for it and it is NOT customer friendly.

I’ve been wasting my time and struggling for over a week to do the simple tasks of print and scan unsuccessfully. Even the YouTube has 10 units.
Can someone from HP reply or contact me

Can you give me back the old Smart system as this new one is awful and all I want to do is print and scan.

Can you ask a real person from HP - not a bot -  to reply? I see that many others have the same problem so presumably you are concerned by the reception of the introduction (?) of your new app - I hope you are.

Welcome to the HP Community --

No "bots" here.

Perhaps you are asking about the HP App Mobile version that was introduced within the past couple of months.

True -- We were not asked whether we wanted HP Smart to be replaced.

I am not aware that there is any option to backtrack to the old HP Smart mobile app -- the HP Smart application has been replaced with the HP App.

True -- The intent is to improve your printer experience -- whether it does so is always a matter of opinion, I think.

True -- the HP App is intended to be a "one stop shop" for your printer.

A Main Menu at the top level has been added -- this is the Devices level for new and detected devices.

After you have added your printer to the HP App, this menu still shows up as the primary start point when you open the application.

True -- Due to the addition of the top level menu, there is now an extra "click" to select your added printer.

After your "My Printer" menu page opens, the options for "My Printer" display on the screen.

Scroll down from the top of the page, scroll past any advertisements --

The first of the My Printer menus is the Print and Scan menu --

The "Tiles" still employ al "Point and Click" action to open a task, for example, Print Documents

Scroll down past the Print and Scan menu to find the other menu options - some of these are similar to those found in the old HP Smart app, others are new.
