Downloaded the recommended HP drivers for my HP printer which I paid for and now I have a malware virus.

If you paid for drivers then you were not downloading from the official HP site and likely were on a scam site that format themselves to trick users into thinking they are dealing with HP directly. Sorry you were taken advantage of and I have escalated your post to the moderators. Someone from HP may reach out to you for more details via a private message on this forum as HP takes these types of scams seriously and works hard to shut down these sites whenever they can.
