Hello,

The Wi-Fi Direct can remain on, when the printer is connected to the wireless network.
It's up to you if you want to turn it off.

If you want to turn Off the Wi-Fi Direct feature, proceed as follows:

1. In the printer control panel screen, in the Home screen, touch the Wi-Fi Direct icon ().
2. Touch Settings icon ().
3. If the screen indicates that Wi-Fi Direct is On (Enabled), tap the switch button next to Wi-Fi Direct for Off (Disabled).

Please update the printer firmware as follows:

1. From the printer's front panel display, touch the Wireless icon () to retrieve the printer's IP address.
2. Launch a web page, then type this address in the address bar and press Enter. The printer's Web interface opens.
3. Click the Tools tab, then expand Printer Updates, and then click Firmware Updates.
4. Click the Check Now button to install the latest firmware update.
