Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I am trying to connect to my printer via WIFI direct, and windows cannot find the printer.

 

My situation: 

the printer is less than 4 feet from the computer so I know its close enough (I know I could run a cord, but I will connect this to other computers as well so I want to get this to work) 

I have confirmed that WIFI direct is turned on on the printer

my computer can detect other HP WIFI direct printers around me  (I am in a coworking environment, so I cannot just connect it to WIFI)

 

I'm not really sure what needs to happen here.
