Attempting to add printer, asking for WPS PIN number, supposed to be on printer or paperwork, cannot find it. What does it look like, how is it/where is it labelled?  Help please!

Hi @CEM011660,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP WPS pin is a unique eight-digit code generated by the HP wireless router during the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) connection process. WPS is a method that allows you to easily connect wireless devices to a Wi-Fi network without manually entering the network name (SSID) and password. The WPS pin is used to authenticate the connection between the device and the router.

To find the WPS pin on an HP printer, you can follow these steps.

  • Press the Wireless button on your HP printer.
  • Press the Settings button.
  • Select Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to display the PIN.

Alternatively, you can also find the WPS pin on the label at the bottom of your HP router or in the documentation that came with it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
