HP Laser 107w

Hello,

i have set up a specific password for the embedded web interface of my Laser 107w, because i got an pop-up as security advice after first login. Now i tried to connect with my configured credentials and the login prompt wont accept the credentials. After some research i found no way to reset the web password to factory settings. So my question is: how can i reset the web password/credentials?

Hi @Garp_Senchau,

thank you for your support.

The described steps helped me to find a solution to my problem.

At first I tried your steps to restart/power off/on and login to EWS without success. This wont fix the issue.

After this attempt i updated the firmware via usb (because i was locked out of EWS :P). So downloaded the new firmware V3.82.01.17, mine was currently at V3.82.01.02. Followed the readme PDF inside the zip archive to flash the printer via usb.

After the installation i repeated the on/off steps, again without success.

Then i found this helpful support answer with a hint from @sandytechy20 to reset the network configuration.

To do this, i used the Easy Printer Manager tool with usb connection to my printer.

Simply choose the printer > Advanced Setting > Device Settings (Dropdown) > Network Settings scroll all the way down to the last property Restore Default > Network Settings with this small hint under the button "Clear":

"* Restoring Network Settings as default will clear security configurations as well as Network configurations. Restoring Network Settings will take effect after system is rebooted."

Push the button and restart the printer afterwards brought the solution to my problem.

Just reconfigure the WIFI configuration. Connect to the ESW and login with the default admin and blank password credentials.
