@Rion2, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you're encountering an issue with your HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One printer where it states that the driver is unavailable, here are the steps you can take to resolve the problem so that you can install the necessary driver:

Update Windows: Ensure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, drivers might not be recognized if Windows is outdated. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Download the Latest Driver: Visit the official HP website to download the latest driver for your HP ENVY 7640 printer:

Uninstall Previous Drivers:

  • Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
  • Locate any existing HP printer software and uninstall it.

Install the New Driver: Once the download is complete, run the installer. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the new driver. Ensure your printer is connected either via USB or connected to your network for the installation process.

Restart Your Computer: After installation, restart your computer to ensure all changes are applied correctly.

Verify Printer Connection: Ensure your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. This could be through a USB connection, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet. You may need to follow the setup instructions on the printer's display screen.

Test Print: Once you've installed the new driver and ensured the printer is connected, try printing a test page to confirm that the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
