I've had to install my Officejet 3830 on a new computer and I must not have downloaded all the software. The option I saw was for a basic software install which I installed, but there were four more options beneath that that I didn't install, except for HP Smart. The printer is working fine but today when I tried to scan I only had the bare minimum and couldn't set any options on where to save files, etc. Now I can't find the Scan Utility that should do that. Diagnosis says they can't find the driver and unable to find HPScan application software. The recommendation was to download full feature software. Do I need to uninstall and re-install the basic software and then add those other downloads or can I just add them? Which ones should I add? Thanks.

Basic software gives you bare basic stuff so you can print and basic scanning option.
If you install full software you will be able to use your printer more efficiently with more features that are not available in the basic driver.
