Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 - I need the Embedded Web Server (EWS) login credentials.

If I use a web browser to connect to the EWS, and do a management function, 'Power Cycle' as an example, it asks for login credentials, which I don't know.

Also, if I use HP SMART software, to do the same, it also asks for the login credentials, again, I do not know what they are.

I have reset the printer to factory defaults and still no-go since I do not know what the factory default login/password is!

The goodness is, I can locate Lexmark, Canon, Ricoh, Xerox default passwords for my clients. But HP appears to do a great job of hiding these. Further if you reach out to HP support, they only tell you how to reset the printer back to factory defaults, which does no good if you don't know what the factory default is!!!

Hi @TheKingfish57,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I understand the printer is locked with an administrator password

We can perform a semi-full reset on the printer to resolve the issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
