What is the “access code”

When pressing Sign In on the printer's touchscreen, I am asked for a User Access code. Where do I get this code?

simple question which is about the laser printer touch screen. It says “Sign In” in the top left corner on the touch screen, when you select it it asks for an access code: what is this and where do I get the code? Simple and straightforward answers please as I’m a simple guy. If you give reference to another page then please tell us how to get to that page. [edit]

This question is somewhat dependant on the model that you have. Typically there are three standard levels of sign in

user

Administrator

Service

A user sign-in is one created by an administrator to restrict access to selected printer functions to only users who know the sign in. The administrator sign-in is also a password created by the user but by default allows access to all functions of the printer. The Service password is set by HP and allows technicians to access all functions and additional service functions.

Some models allow you to create additional user types and passwords.
