What is the difference between OfficeJet Pro 6970 and 6975, and also between 8600 and 8615?

I just want to know the *differences* between these models, or where I can find such information. I can find plenty of feature comparisons list all the main features, but they show identical features for similar models, and give no clue as to what's the difference. I can also find detailed specs, but those are often organized in different ways and show a different set of information for similar models, and it's impossible to identify what distinguishes them.

Also, what does the 8600 series have that the 6970 series doesn't?

It's puzzling and frustrating how so many manufacturers who have many similar models don't make it easy to find out what the differences are between similar models, or even between different series, instead expecting prospective buyers to just pore over feature lists and try to figure it out, when those feature lists often don't make it clear.
