Hi @Tracyparker

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

To help narrow down what password you’re looking for, I’d like to clarify a few points so we can isolate the situation:

  • Which HP printer model are you working with?
  • Are you trying to connect the printer to Wi‑Fi, or are you trying to log in to the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) or control panel?
  • When you say “new printer password,” did the printer prompt you for a Wi‑Fi password, an admin password, or a PIN during setup?
  • Is the printer currently showing any messages on its display about credentials or access?
  • Have you recently reset the printer or updated its firmware, which might have changed the default password behavior?

Once I know these details, I can guide you to the exact password location or method to retrieve/reset it.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
