Officejet Pro 6830

I have an Officejet pro 6830 with the commonly reported printer blockhead error. I have just installed 4 brand new inks (the price of another printer) - the printer obviously belongs in the bin. And I dont want to buy the same crappy model.

Are there any other HP printers that use this ink?

Thank you for informing us that any of us who got this printerhead error and had the above noted ink cartridges, we might as well just throw more cash in the trash since NONE of the models that use these cartridges are available... all were discontinued.

I can now throw out about $200 in ink and then pay another $200plus to get a new printer (or $200+ for a refurbished one) oh and more for ink cartridges ... might be time to look for another printer manufacturer.  Printer doesn't last 2 years?? They KNEW the printhead was defective since before 2015 and yet continued to sell it and NOT advise new owners nor make it an extended warranty item.  I believe my "ownership" started in 2015 so once again HP has screwed a customer.

Not your fault, I know, but definitely NOT happy this afternoon ... where did HP quality go?  Certainly not in their printers, and I have been an HP user for more years than I wish to admit.  But this could be the last straw.

I did receive the private message that basically asked for information that had nothing to do with my question.

I have already dealt with HP support regarding a printer head error that was (I unfortunately didn't know until I got the error) that requires replacement as it is a hardware error.

HP support only "solution" was to purchase a refurbished machine for at least 2 times what I saw new machines for.  Oh and the "solution" did not say whether they were able to use the ink that I had or did I need to purchase new ink for the refurbished machines.

IF I had even purchased the HP all in one knowing that there was a known problem with the machine, I NEVER would have purchased ink in advance.  I would have waited until the ink was out or almost out and buy individual cartridges not the "saver packs".  I now have 2 double packages of black ink and 2 packages of 3 color ink cartridges that will end up in the garbage.

I hear your frustration.  I bought the 6830 and less than a month after having it, HP sent me a refurbished one and I just knew then I should have returned it to Costco instead because shortly after the initial printhead problem, the scanner stopped working.  Now apparently it says there is another print head issue and now it's past the date HP will help out.  What ever happened to the days when you could buy a printer and use it for 10 to 15 years,  I still have an old 4040 HP printer that I use.  the quality is not as perfect as it once was and due to lack of software that I can connect it to so it only can print one copy of each thing you print.  but let me also tell you that I have had the same ink cartridge in that printer for over 4 years!!  The same one.  They were a bit pricey back then but obviously well worth it compared to buying $100 of cartridges every month.

I miss the old HP that we all grew to love and respect.
