When finishing the setup on the HP Smart app (Android & Windows), I am getting error UU_400_EB000A9900 and I am unable to finish the setup.

I already know the link to install the HP Smart app : https://support.hp.com/sg-en/document/ish_1716406-1413451-16

Apparently, sometimes you have to uninstall and reinstall this application several times to have a chance of it finally working.

Not very normal for an application of this kind.

Hi @parkertreize

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The UU_400_EB000A9900 error when setting up the printer using the HP Smart app on Android or Windows can be frustrating. This error is often related to connectivity issues, problems with the app's installation, or issues with the printer's connection to your Wi-Fi network. Let's go through some steps to help resolve this issue:

Steps to Fix the UU_400_EB000A9900 Error:

1. Check Network Connectivity

  • Ensure both your phone/computer and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Double-check that your device (Android phone, Windows PC, etc.) is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
    • If you're using a dual-band router (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), ensure that both your device and printer are on the same band, preferably the 2.4 GHz network, as some printers have issues connecting over 5 GHz bands.

2. Restart the Printer and Devices

  • Restart the Printer:
    • Turn off your printer and unplug it for about 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart Your Phone/Computer:
    • Sometimes a simple restart of your device helps resolve connectivity or app-related issues.

3. Clear Cache and Reinstall the HP Smart App

  • On Android:
    1. Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart.
    2. Select Storage and tap Clear Cache.
    3. Tap Clear Data, then uninstall the app.
    4. Reinstall the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store and attempt setup again.
  • On Windows:
    1. Open Settings > Apps > HP Smart.
    2. Click on Uninstall and follow the prompts.
    3. Reinstall the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
