I noticed that HP now has a program called, "HP Smart" and I found "printer settings" in it, then "print quality tools" if you need to perform a clean or clean printheads.  Hp Smart also shows print levels.  But . . . . my friend has an HP F2480 printer and it did not show any of those options and said that she needs to find the settings in the printer app.

Since I have a newer HP Printer and I am not at her house, I am having an extremely hard time talking her through where to find the information.   I hope this helps.

Your friend's print software is a much older version (compared to some).

Assuming she has the Full Feature Software installed, the setup might look something like the following example (admittedly pulled from a newer printer and newer software).

Printer Assistant (shortcut icon on the Desktop named for the printer) >

Estimated Ink Levels (some sort of "ink icon")

Device Services (she may need to poke at the different tabs)

Hi,

pologies for jumping in @Dragon-Fur, the F2480 is even older and would be provided with the HP Solution Center software rather than Printer Assistant

https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c02463264

@jjc1- the HP Toolbox would be within the HP Solution Center software, assuming teh HP Full Feature Software is installed for the printer:

  • Open the HP Solution Center Software.
  • Click Settings ().
  • In the Print Settings area, click Printer Toolbox. The printer Toolbox opens.

You are always welcome.  Smiling.

Yes, I realized that the Solution Center would be different — I didn’t have the exact reference.  The tabs are indeed very different.

Thanks for the clarification!
