HP LaserJet P1006 Printer

Team, I see NO ONE is updating this site to include the "OPERATING SYSTEM" pull down menu!!  Okay HP, I have a new MAC with MAC IOS 15.5 and guess what?  Yep, my trusty HP Laserjet P1006 NO LONGER WORKS.  Could that possibly be because HP has FAILED to post updated drivers?? I am thinking YES!!  When should those of us who don't want to throw out our perfectly good HP Laserjet expect a software driver update for MAC OS 15.5.  Standing by!!

Hi @hankpitts,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how important it is to keep using a trusted printer like your HP LaserJet P1006, and I appreciate your feedback regarding driver support. The HP LaserJet P1006, introduced in 2007, is not supported on the latest versions of macOS, including macOS 15.5 (Sequoia). As macOS continues to evolve, older printers that rely on legacy 32-bit drivers or non-AirPrint protocols may no longer function as expected.

At this time, HP does not offer updated macOS drivers for this printer model, and it is not compatible with the driver framework used in the latest macOS releases.

The last officially supported macOS version for the HP LaserJet P1006 is macOS 12 Monterey. You can find the available drivers on HP's official support site here:

👉 HP LaserJet P1006 Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Unfortunately, macOS versions 13 (Ventura), 14 (Sonoma), and 15 (Sequoia) do not have driver support for this printer, and HP does not currently plan to release additional drivers for newer macOS versions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for responding and no wonder HP is headed in the wrong direction.  Buy a laser printer and don’t worry, at some point HP will quit supporting their products!!  😓😓😓.  Does not do much in support of long term customer loyalty!!
