Duplex (auto) was working perfectly, now it isn't.

Previously, in an office app like MS Word, I select 'Print All Pages, then 'Print on Both Sides (along long edge), and hey presto, I get 1 piece of paper printed on both sides - no problem, no manual swapping of paper.

Now, when I select as above, it goes into manual duplex.    I want, and have been used to, auto duplex. So why the change ?

On investigation in printer properties (shortcuts) the 'Print on both sides' is selected Yes (manually).  I don't want manual, I want auto as before.   If I say No, it changes the Windows print routing back to Print on one side.

I don't understand why the option for Auto Duplex has gone ?

Hi,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled:

Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.

Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

Shlomi

Hi Shlomi - that WORKED 🙂   Thank you.   But . . .

now the print job goes to tray 1 whereas before it would go to tray 2
