I've reinstalled my Mac and want to add our networkprinters. Unfortunately - the only thing I find is HP Easy Start, no normal drivers. Printers are on a separate VLAN and WiFi printing is switched off, so Easy Start cannot find them and therefore I am not able to install and use the printers. I find no way of getting hold of traditional drivers, preferably the barebones packages.
This is too bad, luckily I have a Kyocera in the office which works.
Why do you want to treat your users - _customers_ - as idiots, who are unable to handle the installation of a driver? Easy Start or other "Smart" functions are very nice as a _supplement_, but extend us the courtesy of letting us determine what we need for ourselves.

Hello KjetiIT;
Normally if printers and computers are connected into the same network segment, the software should be able to find them and add them as usual. We recommend to make sure you can access the printer's Embedded Web Server on a given computer on that separate VLAN so you can make sure there is some connectivity between those.
Once you have confirmed connectivity, you can use either HP Easy Start, HP Smart or even the default MAC OS add a printer option: go to System Preferences> Printers> press the + symbol or Add Printer button> select from the list or even specify the printer's IP address to add it.

That network segment is unavailable to me directly. If I try to plug myself in our IPS/IDS will raise hell and shut me out for being where I'm not supposed to. And since this software does not allow me to enter IP address for setup of a normal print connection I'm stuck. The web service is not available due to security policies in place - it's IP printing or nothing.
I _can_ add a printer using the OS, but I have no driver to assign to it, so it's not an alternative .
How can I find a traditional driver?
You did not reply to my question - why have the traditional drivers been removed? I can see the usefulness of providing an interface that simplifies the process of adding a printer for non technical people, but why hide everything else from network administrators as well? Because - lo and behold - some of us use MAC's .
