Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer was working perfectly until a few days ago when it will no longer connect over wifi. It will work with an ethernet cable plugged into my Windows computer. I have run the scan doctor and tried to use the HP app, both without success. Having spent a couple of hours trying to sort out unsuccessfully, does anyone please have any helpful suggestions? Thank you.

Hi,

The printer supports USB or wireless connectivity only, not ethernet connectivity, any chance you may refer to a USB cable?

Is the printer connected to your wireless network with a solid blue wireless light or can you see the blue light blinking?

Print and review a Wireless Network Test Report:

What exact issue or failure is shown by the report?

Thank you ShlomiL for your reply. I meant USB rather than ethernet. I have printed a printer status report and wireless network test results have detected no problems. The wireless blue light is lit and not flashing. I'm completely baffled as to why my computers will no longer print without the usb cable attached. The problem is affecting all of our devices.

I have gone through the steps to connect my USB printer wirelessly using the HP Smart App on my Windows computer. Although the setup appears to run without a glitch, when I attempt to use the printer wirelessly, there is no wireless connection between the computer and the printer, although the blue wireless light is on and not flashing and is definitely connected to the internet modem. This happens with other windows devices too, so it isn't an issue unique to a particular computer. When I examine the wireless printer icon in the control panel on the computer, it appears that a driver is missing. I have uninstalled the printer and reinstalled drivers direct from the HP website but all to no avail. I am unhappily suspecting that this is a form of built in obsolescence. I will just have to continue using the wired USB version of my printer, which is awkward when my family use different devices.

Hi,

Please try restarting all of your devices.

First, restart your router by unplugging it for a moment, allow it 2-3 minutes till the internet connection returns on your computer.

Next, restart the printer, as soon as the blue light becomes solid print a wireless test report again.

May you see any difference then?

If not, can you access the IP Address of the printer from your web browser? you would find the IP in the bottom part of the report.
