Hello, I need help with updating a new BIOS system to solve audio cutouts and stuttering in games on HP, I am on BIOS version F.02 and the newest BIOS update is from June 12th from what I remember. Everytime I try to install it this error pops up (I have a desktop): unknown (1).png

Hi @JemmaM

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

I see that you are facing BIOS update-related issues on your system. Do not worry, we are here to fix it.

May I know from when are you facing this issue?

Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?

I would suggest you please use the link below and follow the steps from 'Updating the BIOS manually from a USB Flash drive (outside of Windows)': https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4129273-2331498-16

Let me know the outcome of it.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello, thank you for replying. I have been facing this issue for trying to update a new BIOS update for a while now since I just got my computer I listed on in my post; I have not made any changes to any hardware or software-related changes to it.

Hello, thank you and I will try this; although is it required to have another computer to install the BIOS update on the USB drive? I read that we needed install onto a second computer and I do not have access to another one

Thanks for your response.

Could you arrange any system from any of your friends or family members? Once the USB is ready you will be able to update the BIOS.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I will see if they have the availability for it; I was wondering does the USB drive have to be blank? With nothing on it to work/update?

I ended up making it work on the USB, but I can't seem to find Firmware Management in the link you sent me or BIOS management in the start-up menu; do you if it's in here for me? I think I am up to date with the Firmware Managament since I had to update it when I first started Screenshot 2022-07-16 1934453.png

Thanks for your response.

If you click on System Information, you will get the details like Product Name, SKU Number, System Board ID, BIOS Version/Revision, and Processor Type.

Note down the details and then follow the steps from 'Set up the BIOS update on a USB flash drive' in the same link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

In the link you sent me, one of the steps requires where you to click Firmware Management or BIOS in the Boot Menu in the picture I sent above; I do not have that same option
