HP ENVY 6022e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I create a document in Word or CorelDraw, and incorporate images that are larger than required, even though I resize them using image handles, when they print out on my HP printer, the printer resizes the images to their native size, so only part of the image appears on the page.

If I print to PDF the images are rendered at the correct size, and if I then print the PDF they come out as I wanted, it's just when printing directly from Word/Corel (at least) that the images end up oversize.

I can work around by resizing then saving the images to be the correct fit on the page, but SURELY the aim of the printer/drivers is to print Exactly what I lay out, NOT what the printer decides is right.

It's particularly annoying as, being on Instant ink, the rejects are costing me money by eating into my monthly allowance!

Rubbish

I've been an IT support engineer for 20+ years

It's a BUG in the Envy or  its drivers.

Previously I've used Canon Printers, they NEVER gave this problem, I only brought an HP printer during Covid as my Canon Printer died, and I had (mistakenly) thought HP were good, a view I no longer hold.
I feel increasingly inclined to just bin the HP & go back to a printer that does what I tell it, NOT what it thinks it will do
