I have a HP Officejet 5255 printer and I keep getting notices that the firmware needs updating yet when I try to fulfill the request, I am notified that the printer is up to date. I cannot select the printer to proceed with the update.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting HP.
On the printer Home Screen click on the small Wireless Icon and the IP Address of the printer will get displayed.
Go to a Browser, type in the IP Address and hit enter.
The Printer page will open.
Go to Tools > Printer Updates > Firmware Updates > Select the Radio button against the option "Install Updates Automatically (Required)."
This is the recommended option. The printer will update the firmware on its own each time an update is available.
It will not ask to check manually.
Disabling the Update check is not recommended, so I will not suggest any other option.
Just select "Install Updates Automatically (Required)".
Close the Printer page and check for results.
