When I print a greeting card in American Greetings, it spits out a blank page before printing on the 2nd page, why?  In the instructions it says to adjust printer settings, but how do I do that?

Hi @Hal2222,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 3755 is printing an extra blank page due to the printer's settings or the way the document is formatted in the American Greetings app. This issue is often related to settings such as "paper size" or "print layout," and sometimes due to a miscommunication between the app and the printer driver.

Here’s how to adjust the printer settings to resolve this:

1. Check Printer Preferences

  • Open the Control Panel on your Windows 11 computer.
  • Go to Devices and Printers (or Printers & Scanners if using the newer layout).
  • Right-click on your HP DeskJet 3755 and select Printing Preferences.
  • Under the Layout tab, check the following settings:
    • Ensure the Paper Size is correct (e.g., 8.5 x 11 inches for U.S. Letter).
    • Set Orientation to either Portrait or Landscape as per the greeting card layout.
    • Look for an option like "Print on both sides" or Duplex and adjust if needed (may need to be disabled if not required).

2. Check Paper Source and Quality

  • Go to the Paper/Quality tab in the same Printing Preferences window.
  • Ensure that Tray is set correctly (usually set to "Automatically Select").
  • Set the Print Quality to your preference (usually "Normal" or "Best" for cards).
  • Make sure there is no extra setting selected that would cause an additional sheet to be fed.

3. American Greetings Print Settings

  • Inside the American Greetings app, check if there are any specific print settings that may be adding an extra page. Look for options related to:
    • Print Range: Ensure it is set to the correct range (e.g., "Pages 1-1" instead of "All Pages").
    • Page Formatting: Some apps have built-in margins or additional elements that can cause extra sheets.

4. Disable "Separation Page" Option

  • Go to the Devices and Printers window.
  • Right-click your printer and select Printer Properties.
  • Under the Advanced tab, look for an option to disable Separator Page or Cover Page, as this might trigger an extra blank sheet.

5. Test Print

  • Try printing a test page or a small document after adjusting these settings to see if the issue persists.

Thanks for all the advice.  It made me look at all the possibilities.  As it turned out, the solution was very simple.  In American Greetings, in the printing window, just before you click Print, if it says "2 sheets of Paper", STOP, change the Pages box from All to Custom, then in the next box put 1, the 2 sheets should change to 1 sheet, now you can click Print.  After the first page prints and you turn it over and start to print the 2nd side, you may have to make the changes again.

Thanks again.  Without your help I may not have found this solution.
