Hi @Wanda7771

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how discouraging it must feel to see your DeskJet 2825e stuck in the “processing” stage for hours. Thank you for your patience in trying to set it up.

Let’s walk through some clear steps together to help the printer complete its setup smoothly:

Restart Printer and Router

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the connection.
  • Turn the printer back on and wait until it is idle.

Check Network Connection

  • Ensure the printer is within 1–2 meters of the router during setup.
  • Confirm your Windows PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use.
  • Avoid guest networks or VPN connections during setup.

Reset Printer Network Settings

  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
  • This restores the printer’s network settings, allowing you to reconnect fresh.

Re-run Setup in HP App

  • Open the HP App on your Windows computer.
  • Select Add Printer → Set Up a New Printer.
  • Follow the guided steps until the printer connects and completes processing.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Outdated firmware can sometimes cause setup delays.
  • Visit HP Software and Driver Downloads and enter “DeskJet 2825e” to check for the latest firmware update.

Temporarily Disable Firewalls/Antivirus

  • Some security software may block communication during setup.
  • Temporarily disable them while completing the setup, then re-enable afterward.

After performing these steps, the printer should move past the “processing” stage and finish setup. If it still hangs, repeating the setup after resetting the network settings usually clears the issue.
