I setup a new printer. It connected just fine to my printer and works great. The problem is that HP's setup is terrible and continually fails to register the printer to the HP system.

I have now been on the phone with support for more than 1 hour and 40 minutes, they keep repeating the same procedures that keep failing. I've asked them repeatedly to just register the printer manually, as they can see it it connected. They won't.

I look on the HP site, and I can't find an email support number for complaints.

I'm trying to switch from 30 years of Brother printers because their software and support has continued to get worse; but it HP's no better, I can return the printer and stick with Brother.

Why can't you folks get this registered?

After 2 hours on the line, yet another person sent me to yet another line, and that line wouldn't let me talk to a real person but sent me back to the support site.

What I find interesting when I came is:

- The setup software on the desktop tells me it can't register the product

- My support dashboard shows the printer, S/N and all, as registered

Is the later all that matters, and I can give up on trying to finish the setup from the desktop?

This is not customer friendly.
