Reconnecting Your HP Printer to a New Wi-Fi Network

When you change your Wi-Fi vendor, your network settings (SSID and password) change, which means you need to reconnect your printer to the new network. Here's how to update the Wi-Fi settings for your HP printer:

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Prepare Your Printer:

    • Make sure your printer is turned on.
    • Ensure it is within the range of your new Wi-Fi network.
  2. Use the Printer Control Panel:

    • For printers with a touchscreen: Navigate to the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu. Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to enter your new Wi-Fi network name and password.
    • For printers without a touchscreen: Press and hold the Wireless button on your printer for about 5 seconds or until the wireless light starts to blink. Then, press the WPS button on your wireless router within two minutes. The printer will automatically connect to the network.
  3. Update the Connection on Your iPhone:

    • Make sure your iPhone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer.
    • Open the HP Smart app (if you don’t have it, download it from the App Store).
    • In the app, tap the Plus symbol to add your printer.
    • Follow the instructions to reconnect your printer to the app via the new network.
  4. Test the Connection:

    • Try printing a document from your iPhone to ensure that the printer is properly connected.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If the printer is not found during setup, make sure the printer and iPhone are on the same network.
  • Restart your router, printer, and iPhone if the connection fails.
  • If the IP address of the printer is static, manually update it through the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).

By following these steps, you should be able to reconnect your printer to your iPhone on the new Wi-Fi network.
