HP LaserJet M110we Printer

Hi - Hope someone can assist - I have tried contacting HP Support - but that seems to be very difficult if not impossible.

I wish to switch my WiFi printer to a different router. The router the printer is currently connected is still present.

Each time I try to switch to the new router, the printer just maintains the current router selection.

Any assistance would be welcome please.

Thanks

Hi @SimonShipley,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To switch your HP LaserJet M110we printer to a different router, you can follow these general steps.

  1. Access the Printer's Control Panel:

    • On the printer's control panel, navigate to the setup or network settings. The exact steps may vary, so consult your printer's manual for specific instructions.
  2. Connect to the Current Router:

    • Ensure that your printer is currently connected to the old router.
  3. Disconnect from the Old Router:

    • In the printer's settings, look for an option to disconnect or forget the current Wi-Fi network. This is usually in the wireless or network settings.
  4. Reset Network Settings (if needed):

    • Some printers have a network or wireless settings reset option. You might need to reset the network settings to clear the old Wi-Fi information.
  5. Connect to the New Router:

    • After disconnecting from the old router, look for the option to connect to a new Wi-Fi network. Provide the necessary information, such as the new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  6. Restart the Printer:

    • Once you've entered the new Wi-Fi information, restart the printer. This helps the printer establish a connection with the new router.
  7. Check Connection:

    • Print a network configuration or status page from the printer's control panel to verify that it is now connected to the new router.
  8. Update Printer Drivers (if needed):

    • If you are still facing issues, ensure that your printer drivers on your computer are up to date. Sometimes, updating the drivers can resolve connectivity problems.
  9. Restart the New Router:

    • If the printer still doesn't connect, try restarting the new router. After the router restarts, check if the printer can connect.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
