Trying to set up the printer wifi connection via the HP Smart app but unable to . Message pops up to connect to HP Set Up wifi , that leads me to DIRECT - F9 - HP DESK JET 6000 network which ask me for a password to which I have no access . The wifi light on the printer is flashing and have tried the reset method also but no luck .

Hi,
You would need to set the printer to set up mode to connect it to your network, no need of the Wi-Fi Direct connection for a such,
Please follow below support document:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1780623-1698506-16
Make sure the printer is in setup mode as listed for your printer model, and its front light flashes purple

Tried entering the PIN but it says incorrect password. The app is not recognising the printer and when select new printer icon is selected it leads me to select the HP wifi and password which the PIN mentioned inside the cartridge when selected leads to incorrect password .
