My wireless router recently changed to a different network, so I need to change the Wireless settings on my HP OfficeJet Pro 9015.  Most of the options are greyed out and I get a message that says "This feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer."  The Reset Network Settings option is unavailable as well.  Please let me know how to reset this.  Thank you.

Hello - I managed to get access to the web interface via a wired connection and IP address.  Printer is now on the correct wifi network.  However I can only print on one computer via a wired connection.   I can see the printer now to add it back, but I am being prompted for a WPS Pin.  The Wireless Protected Setup section is still greyed out "... locked by the person..." as per my first message.  I have turned wi-fi direct off, however I am still locked out.

Any ideas?  Thanks.

Hi @KLP991,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've managed to connect your HP Officejet Pro 9015 to the correct Wi-Fi network via the web interface, but you're encountering issues with connecting other devices wirelessly and accessing certain settings due to restrictions set by the initial setup, here are some steps you can take.

  • Factory Reset: If possible, perform a factory reset on your printer. This should reset all settings, including any restrictions set by the initial setup. Typically, there's a physical button combination or a sequence you can follow from the printer's menu to initiate a factory reset. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions.
  • Accessing Advanced Settings: If a factory reset is not possible or doesn't resolve the issue, try accessing the advanced settings of your printer through the web interface. Since you mentioned you've accessed it via a wired connection and IP address, look for any settings related to network security or access control. You might be able to find and modify the settings that are currently restricting access.
  • Alternative Connection Methods: If you're unable to resolve the issue with the WPS PIN, consider setting up the printer on your computer using alternative connection methods such as Wi-Fi Direct or manually entering the Wi-Fi network credentials.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @KLP991,

Thank you for your response,

If you're experiencing difficulty printing via Wi-Fi on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can usually do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel. Make sure the Wi-Fi indicator on the printer is solid or blinking to indicate an active connection.
  • Restart Printer: Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart Wi-Fi Router: Restart your Wi-Fi router or access point. This can help refresh the network connection and resolve any temporary network issues.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually check for firmware updates through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP support website and entering your printer model.
  • Check Printer Settings: Make sure that the printer settings allow printing via Wi-Fi. Navigate through the printer's control panel menu to verify that Wi-Fi printing is enabled and that the correct network is selected.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: On the computers from which you're trying to print wirelessly, reinstall the printer drivers. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website or use the installation CD that came with the printer.
  • Troubleshoot Printer Software: Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility on your computer. This tool can diagnose and resolve common printing problems with HP printers.
  • Reset Printer Network Settings: If all else fails, you can try resetting the printer's network settings to factory defaults. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a network reset.

If you've tried all of the above steps and are still unable to print wirelessly, it's possible that there may be a more complex issue with either the printer or your Wi-Fi network configuration.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Everything starting working fine this morning.  I don't really know why (I had done all the rebooting of printer, computers, cable modem, et al over the weekend) but hey now all of a sudden I can print via wifi again.

As long as it works, I'm happy.

Thank you for your assistance!
