I had an old HP printer that is no longer used and now have an HP Envy printer. The new printer used to work to scan and print but I got a new computer with OSX Mojave and the new HP won't scan and says it can't find a computer. But I do have it set as the only printer in my system preferences. I think the old HP is interfering with the new one and want to uninstall the old one. If I use the HP uninstall, will it know to just delete only the old files and keep the new one, or will I have to re-install the drivers for the current printer again?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need to know the model number of the printer that you use.
Doing a clean installation will help resolve this issue, Let us try these steps:
Step 1: Uninstall all the HP drivers from root level
1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers
Step 2: Install a fresh copy of HP full featured drivers
Step 3: Another option is to install HP Smart app
