Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I just updated to Update 22631.3007 Windows 11. After that HP Smart started acting up. Requesting Win UAC prompts multiple times and finally showing active windows after a few minutes.

I  uninstalled and re installed the app to no avail

I think the app needs an update.

I am at the same win11 build and it seems to be working ok.

check your UAC settings.

What model printer?  Maybe the drivers are too old.

Nothing was changed since the update. I don't know why it works for you.

UAC settings are at the same place.

HP Smart attempts to contact all HP printers after starting.  If your system is on a domain then it may be accesssing printers that require admin (UAC) permission.  Alternatately, your printer driver may need to  have win11 security features.

If you run "printui /s" from the admin command prompt how may HP printers show up?

What model of printer do you have?

I just rolled back the computer and then updated windows to latest version.

All was working fine until:

The app updated in the store and then issues began.

The app update is the problem.

Just to prove to you that the update is the problem,

I uninstalled the new app version and installed the older version of the app.

In college, had four "D" in French but I think I understand the problem:

You have windows 11

You had HP Smart 121.2.195.0 and it worked fine.

You went to the Microsoft Store and got the latest French version 151.1.1087.0  which did not work.

Try "reset" by bring up Settings => Apps => Hp Smart

scroll down near to bottom

if that does not work then go to the Microsoft store and give a 1 star rating and tell what is wrong

Yep, that's right. repair and reset does nothing getting an older version from the web and installing fixes the problem like I mentioned.

Now if putting one star on the app gets more attention then here, I am really confused.

I did support on this site about 10 years ago as an MS MVP and usually admins check issues, so I hope they still do that rather than reading app comments.

Thanks for the help.

Well, if admin reads these posts maybe they can get Prométhée  to come back on line has he was the French expert here IMHO.

It could be only language related but usually the MUI is the only the affected part. But since you don't have any issues with your version...

That's out of my pay grade.  🙄
