Windows 10 - HP3830 - Unable to print - print error in Spooler

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer wasn't printing in Color on my Surface Windows 10 laptop.  I uninstalled the Printer multiple times, reinstalled rebooted machine.  Unplugged printer and turned back on multiple times. Updated reg files as recommended reinstalled, etc.  

Printer is working with other laptops in our house.  Just not my surface. 

 

When I try to print, all files even the test file goes to Error status in the spooler.  With no exact reason.

 

How can I fix this.  - very frustrating.

Hi,

Try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

 

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

 

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy and check.

This did not help - still same issue  when I send files to print they are in the queue in error with no error.

the error during the print doc is arugments are invalid.

When I try to print via HP Smart, I see the following error. -
