HP Deskjet F4400
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On 11/23/22, I installed the HP Smart software onto my mother-in-law's desktop Windows 10 PC so that I could scan multi-page documents from her HP Deskjet F4400 all-in-one printer. A support person at HP helped me get the scan working by having me create an HP account for her and logging the HP Smart software into that account. At that time, the OS was Windows 10 Home edition version 10.0.19045 Build 19045.

When she tried to use the printer yesterday (11/29/22) however, the HP Smart software kept reporting "No available printers found". I helped her confirm that the printer  is powered on and connected to the PC via USB. However, the Windows "Printers & Scanners" settings page lists the printer as "Offline" and the HP Smart Software lists the printer status as "Offline".  She is not able to print anything to her printer.  Please advise.

@ferRX Thank you. It turns out that the printer was connected to the computer through a USB hub, and moving the connection to be direct solved the problems!
