Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all I have a HP Envy 5000 printer. After doing a complete install to Windows 10 64 bit, All works well.. Printer, Scanner etc. My problem is that on a daily basis Windows 10 updater keeps reinstalling the driver every day or any time I check for updates.. My update log show many m,any updates of the same driver USB-44.1.2402.1741

I have noticed many many posts on this problem but no solution has worked. I have changed settings in the Windows update registry key as one solution has suggested no luck. I also changed a setting in Control Panel to say NO to updates ..No luck The driver just keeps installing and installing every day or when I check for updates. Does anyone have a real solution to this problem it has been posted for so so long I can't believe there is no solution. PS.. I have no way to tell if windows is really installing the driver. I see the update happening and in the log but checking the driver in device manager does not show when the driver was actually installed. Any help apprecisted

Thanks,,, midengine.

Hi,

Please launch and follow the Show or Hide Update troubleshooter and select to hide updates, then select the update and complete the rest of the screens:

https://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f22d5fdb-59cd-4275-8c95-1be17bf70b21/wushowhide.diagca...

Then ensure the printer functions correctly and follow for any change in the days to come.

Please let me know how it goes,

Shlomi

Yes the download file you provided did the trick. Thank you ever so much. I really appreciate it. Now the driver no longer updates. I have been trying different solutions for about a week including one that had me edit the registry adding a windows update folder and key, none of them worked. Again, Thank you very much.
