Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I got fresh Windows 10 on my computer and lost driver for my HP DeskJet F4224 all-in-one printer and scanner.
I can not find driver again and all wizards I tried from HP website does not seem to get the job done.

Is there any way to get drivers for this model of the printer? Thank you!

Best regards,
Uros M

Go to this non-HP site

scroll down to the Deskjet Full Feature Software and Drivers

and get the windows 7 64 bit.  It should work fine in 10 or 11

BUT READ THE WARNING FIRST

WARNING: THE ARCHIVE SITES BELOW ARE NOT HP AND PROBABLY HAVE UNWANTED SOFTWARE THAT WILL DOWNLOAD IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL

The following two sites have software for older systems that might not be available at HP. The driverscollection site is recommended more than the .eu one. Do not download any "driver downloader" or "updater". Please examine the buttons to ensure they download the actual driver and not a driver helper. Do not click on any advertisements or any page that has the word "AD"

https://us.driverscollection.com

https://drivers.eu/Printers/HP

https://drivers.eu/PC/HP

Close any popup that has "AD" in it. Download only official HP files. For laptops and desktops, the download filename will start with the two letters SP and have the form
SP153214.exe -or-
SP96885.exe etc.

Printer download will have the name or model of the printer in the filename.

Are these sites safe? No, both sites have malware.
Malware is "Malicious" software. Generally speaking this is software that is not considered a virus or trojan. It performs unwanted functions such as downloading newer advertisements or reporting what the user is looking to buy and offering alternative suggestions. Typically free games have these apps. Note that some users consider this to be a feature.
Type MRT in the windows search bar both before and after downloading.

I am sorry that HP no longer maintains old drivers but everyone runs out of space and patience eventually.

Thank you!
I found what I needed under this name: DJ_AIO_03_F4200_NonNet_Full_WW_140_404-4

I had issues with the recent windows 11 update (KB5050094) not sure if this impacts windows 10. my printers were working again after I uninstalled the windows update

HP Recommended

That update had a few problems that they call "issues" as described here

I see that OpenSSH has a problem.  That is a key component in windows.  I cannot imagine releasing an update that caused problems with OpenSSH.  However, i update 1/29/2025 and my printers are working but I have older HP that may not have the ssh problem.

I am glad you got it working though.
