I have had an HP ENVY 4522 all-in-one printer, S/N [Private information removed], for a number of years, with which I am very happy. Firmware CFP1FN2023BR. Hostname HPE67AD0.
Windows 10 Home, Version 20H2, OS Build 19042.928.
I have an Apple iPad, an Android Samsung A51 mobile phone, two Windows 10 laptops - an old Dell and a new Levono. All have HP Print installed.
Using HP's ePrint service, I am able to print from all.
I have an in-home network which connects all my devices via WiFi to a modem provided by my ISP Bell Canada, and then to the Internet if required. The printer is connected to the network via WiFi.
Using the Print functions on all devices (print from a program or app, - e.g. a PDF file or an Excel spreadsheet - I was able to print without problem. This includes the old Windows 10 Dell laptop and the new Levono. I seems to me that there is not a hardware problem.
However, after a Windows automatic update about a week ago, Windows on the new Levono stopped "seeing" the printer. I have tried to add a device using Settings>Devices>Printers, but when I enter the WPS PIN (from the display on the front of the printer), I get a message that it failed. When I try to use HP Smart to configure the printer, I get Printer Off-Line message. I have pressed the WPS button on the modem. No luck. Using Control Panel>Devices and Printers, the ENVY 4522 does not show.
The old Windows 10 Dell laptop still prints.
HP ePrint still seems to work, but no direct printing from the new Windows laptop.
On the Lenovo laptop (the one that does not see the printer) I have installed HP Smart version 126.2.222.0.
On the old Dell the program that runs when I try to print: "C:\Program Files\HP\HP ENVY 4520 series\Bin\"
Running the Windows Troubleshooter on the new machine, I get the message: "Printer HP ENVY 4500 Series Class Driver cannot be contacted over the network." Also "Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection." HP Print and Scan Doctor cannot connect to the ENVY 4520 fron the new laptop.
Under Services, I have Stopped, and Started the Print Spooler. Rebooted the laptop. Didn't work.
Why can I print from one Windows laptop but not from the the other?
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

@7scuba7, Welcome to HP Support Community!
This could be due to the connectivity or the drivers installed. Let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-
You may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer connectivity issues.
For more information, go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/topic/printscandoctor
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Assign manual IP to the printer
The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.
For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers
If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”
8). Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for the HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers.
Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer.
Add a TCP/IP port.
- Print a Network Configuration Report from the Printer Settings or Wireless menu.
- Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab, and then click Add Port.
- Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
- Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
- Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for your very detailed email response.
Since I can print from my iPad (AirDrop), from my android phone HP Print Service, and from an old Windows 10 laptop HP
Print, I am in no hurry to change the IP address, or reinstall firmware, as it appears that the printer is working.
I can print from all using HPeprint.com. Again the printer seems OK.
Running HP Print and Scan Doctor, it shows that the printer is installed, but the software is not. When I click on Install Driver, the process hangs - nothing happens.
Using Settings>Printers and Scanners the printer shows with the message Driver is unavailable.
I have downloaded EN4520_Basicx64_1122, but there may be an issue with VPN. It took me a long time going through the HP web site to find an obscure warning about VPN.
Will keep trying and posting to let you know of progress or lack thereof.

Removed VPN from Windows startup .
Went to Windows>Settings >Devices.>Printers and scanners. Removed the 4520 printer.
Rebooted. Connected to Internet - no VPN
Went to Windows>Settings >Devices.>Printers and scanners and added the printer. Came up with same message: Driver is unavailable.
Ran the downloaded app: EN4520_Basicx64_1122. Is there another app that I should be using?
It seemed to run, then asked if it should to download latest version. Answered Yes. Got an error message that Browser is not supported. My default Browser if Firefox, which is listed at the bottom of the screen as one of the acceptable browsers.
Any other suggestions?
Is it possible to get a copy of the HP Envy 4522 Installation CD? After many years, mine has disappeared.

After having some Tech Specialists look at my laptop, they seem to feel that there is a corrupted file in Windows. I will backup my important files, then arrange to have a fresh copy of Windows installed. Once that happens, I will try to load the drivers for the the printer. This may take some time with the Covid-19 lockdown. Special thanks to TEJ1602 for all your help.
