after —KB5053598 (OS Build 26100.3476) auto installed, I was not able to print. HP Smart could not install the printer, providing only the message 'Driver Unavailable'.  Re-installing HP Smart did not fix.  Only after uninstalling the Windows KB5053598 (OS Build 26100.3476) update was I able to re-install the OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One printer and print documents again

Update the HP Printer Drivers Manually

Go to Device ManagerPrinters

Right-click your HP OfficeJet 5255 and choose Update driver

Select Search automatically for drivers

 

Download and Install HP's Latest Drivers

Go to the HP Support website

Search for your OfficeJet 5255

Download and install the latest Full Feature Software & Drivers

 

Use Windows Built-in Printer Drivers

Go to SettingsDevicesPrinters & scanners

Click Add a printer or scannerThe printer that I want isn't listed

Choose Add a local printerUse an existing port (USB or network)

Select HP OfficeJet 5255 from the list or Windows Update to find it

 

Try Compatibility Mode

Right-click the HP driver installer

Select PropertiesCompatibility

Choose Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 10
