OfficeJet Pro 9010 Series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm having a VERY irritating problem since installing my new HP OfficeJet Pro - it appears that something has corrupted my Windows Credentials Manager - and now I'm having login / sync issues with Chrome / Skype / Outlook, every time I reboot the PC. I initially thought this was an issue with a Windows Update, but I had the latest v2004 updates well before any of these issues started occurring and the only thing that's changed is the Printer. Any help with this would be much appreciated before I opt for the nuclear option and a fresh install which is difficult whilst using the PC for working from home!

I would guess that Credentials Manager problems are not common (in the vastness of the millions) but it makes sense that if it has happened to you that something similar has happened to someone else.

The amount of data stored in the Credential Manager by the printer is very limited (if at all).

The Manager might be worth a quick examination before you blast Windows.

If you have not done so,

Open your Windows Credentials and check for connections / setups you want to examine or have removed.

For example, if your have added credentials for ePrint (HP Connected / HP Smart), these credentials will be included in the Manager in Web Credentials.  (I do not know the consequences (if any) of removing the entries.)

What else?

I believe it is possible to log out of Skype (to check / log back in) and Outlook is likely part of your Office software (Repair?).  Chrome is its own setup - I don't use / maintain any passwords in Chrome and cannot vouch for what the browser might be doing.

If Chrome refuses to cooperate and you like the "Chrome like" experience, consider the new Microsoft Edge.

Microsoft Edge based on Chromium

What else?

Check the possible source of the problem in the Credential Manager

FIX: Credential Manager doesn’t work in Windows 10
